WINSTON SALEM, NC: The Fayette team
traveled to Wake Forest University this past weekend to compete in one of the opening National Tournaments. Sonya Jooma
and Iesha White finished in the top sixteen in Junior Varsity Policy - and made it to Octofinals where they lost to the tournament
champions - Chattahoochee. Eric Bogert and Trusha Daya recieved a lot of attention in Public Forum because of a computer
mistake. Daya and Bogert were 4-2 in the preliminary rounds , however due to a computer error they were left off the
Double Octofinalist pairing. However, they will still be recognized nationally as a Double Octofinalist at WFU.
Congratulations everyone on an absolutely phenomenal weekend.

ST. GEORGE, FL: As I am
on my summer vacation here at St. George Island, the FCHS debaters are wrapping their summer debate camps up. While
we still have one debater at camp, all of the others are home!
Sonya Jooma, sophomore, had the best turnout at camp. She was named "Most Outstanding Lab student" in her Samford University
lab. She also was undefeated and won her camp tournament. Navroz Tharani, Sarah Chiles, Shaheen Kurani,
and Kamilah Gray all broke even at their respective camp tournaments with 3-3 or 4-4 records. Sonika Reddy, sophomore,
did not have a camp tournament but fared well in her practice debates at the University of Michigan. Trusha Daya, sophomore,
will have her camp tournament this weekend at Dartmouth College.

SENOIA, GA-
This past weekend at the Annual Debate Banquet, the leadership positions were announced for the 2007-2008 season. The Debate team is usually led b a captain and co-captian, but for the 2007-2008 season the team is going
to a Executive Council system. There will be a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer,
and two At Large Members. This system is only temporary and will only be used
for the 07-08 season.
The 2007-2008 NFL President of the team will be sophomore Sonika Reddy. Sonika is a sophomore
who is ranked in the top ten of her class. She has excelled so much in debate and academics. As a freshmen, she
won a Varsity, JV and Novice tournament [first to do that in FCHS history].
The 2007-2008 NFL Vice President of the team will be sophomore Iesha White. Iesha was the
first FCHS freshmen ever to qualify for the Richard B. Russell All State Championship. She also finished in the top
25 teams at Novice Nationals.
The 2007-2008 NFL Secretary/Treasurer of the team will be sophomore Sonya Jooma. Sonya is
a stellar sophomore who can outspeak almost anyone. She won 2 tournaments last year while receiving multiple speaker
awards.
The 2007-2008 NFL Members At Large will be seniors Stephanie Miller and Kamilah Gray. Stephanie
is also a senior who debating comes natural for. She won 4 tournaments in her sophomore year and now usually just judges
for the team. Kamilah is a senior who was a part of the State Runner up team last year. She is an integral part of our
team.
